Stripped Down Music: Unplugged Performances in Unique Settings

I started making music when I was quite young. I auditioned for my first professional chorus in the 4th grade. It was a children’s chorus that rehearsed in Coconut Grove, Fl and there were two of us from Homestead that were selected. It didn’t work out as it was quite far from where we actually lived but I was hooked and just knew that there was something magical about making music and that I loved it and would be committed to for a lifetime.

Over the years I’ve worked to shape and improve my craft and have been so lucky to work with fantastic musicians along the way who shared their skills and knowledge. Florida was fabulous for building my songbook and getting experience as a full time performer. I left Florida earlier this year and am now back in California and working on building up a new performance schedule.

In the meantime, I’m uploading videos of the songs that I perform. These are stripped down in the sense that there’s no amplification and no additional production or tricks to sweeten the sound. I’m using an Apogee HypeMic to capture my voice and guitar and using my own kitchen and other people’s kitchens as a setting. I currently have 350 songs in my songbook, so I expect this to take a little while to accomplish although they’re stacking up pretty quick. I’m primarily using Tik Tok, but also YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. My hope is that folks will connect with some of their favorite tunes and have a moment that transports them to a time in their life when that music spoke to them, or perhaps connect them to some songs (old and new) they’ve never heard before.

Do you have a request for a song you’d like to hear me perform? Follow me on one of those platforms to hear my latest. And let me know if you’ve got a need for entertainment for your venue, restaurant or private party. Thanks for your support! Have a wonderful holiday season.

Leader Of The Band – Dan Fogelberg One of my favorite songs to play, but then I could say that about so many of them… #oldschoolmusic #singersongwritersoftiktok #coversongs #fogelberg

I love rock and roll – Joan Jett This is such a fun song, always great in a live set for getting people to sing along. I live in an apartment and try to record these quietly and yet still try to capture the feel.

This Christmas Morning

I haven’t had as much time to write new music this year but I’m ready! Now that I’ve got my songlist mostly squared away, I can focus more on writing and recording. I’m not normally emotional when I write new material, so I was surprised when I couldn’t get through the second verse of this song without becoming tearful. Lo and behold, put a mic in front of me and the tears dry right up. So, whatever shore you’re standing on may love be at your door, forevermore. Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays. ~ Kally

Do that to me one more time

Do it again! I came across this song and loved it as a kid so I thought it would be fun to learn for playing live. I’m looking to book more residency types of gigs. I’m a creature of habit for sure, so carving out a once a month spot in a venue is right up my alley. So to bolster my marketing efforts I’m recording some songs that I currently play live. Here’s this very special song. More to follow.

Crash

You can now find Crash, my latest release, on all your favorite platforms, Itunes, YouTube, Spotify, Tidal, Amazon, etc. Creating this was a sonic adventure and I hope it makes you want to dance. We should all dance and sing more! Be well.

New Single

My new single, Happy is out now. And my upcoming single, Watching You, will be out in mid-July. You can pick it up in Itunes, or listen on Spotify and be sure to subscribe to my Spotify channel as I’ll be adding more music for you soon.

The chaos in today’s world can make it seem like happy is quite a distance away. For many, these past few years have been ones filled with difficult transitions. People changed jobs, moved their homes, took on new challenges, and found themselves in unexpected situations, myself included. Along my path there were times when I felt a sense of adventure and newness and in some of those moments being happy was palpable. I tried to capture that feeling in this song. It feels odd to release it when there’s so much pain in the world, but perhaps some ear candy can help soothe the savage beast if only for a brief moment. I wish you many happy moments on this journey of ours.

Thanks for supporting my work!

The Long Way

When I first arrived in Vero, my mom would get up early to walk her dogs, so my dog Margot and I got in the habit of joining her and subsequently upon moving to Sebastian, Margot demanded that I continue that pattern. We got in the habit of long walks in Sacramento and enjoy them here too. I use walking to connect with nature, think, be grateful and work on song ideas. During the summer, the earlier the better! It’s fun to walk the neighborhoods, watching folks getting out the door early to start work and come Friday morning, the boats start heading out and you can feel some anticipation for the weekend in the air. It was the starting point for this song which is a collection of a few sights I’ve seen, and some fun I’ve had along the way. Todd Jones and I will be back at the Kilted Mermaid November 7th from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, and we hope you can join us for an evening of entertainment!

Wine, Women & Song with KOM & Todd Jones

I am thrilled to be back at the Kilted Mermaid this Sunday, October 3rd, with the wonderfully talented Todd Jones. You may have caught one of his solo performances over at Havana Nights on the beach or seen him working with other bands around town. He’s a highly skilled guitarist whose leads are a great addition to my covers and originals. We hope you can join us for an evening of fun entertainment. 1/2 off select bottles of wine! You can follow Todd’s work on Facebook at Todd Jones Music
